The Brief

Working in conjunction with the NHS Trust, this client approached us with the challenge of transforming a commercial storage unit and warehouse into a fully functioning office space. Split across two floors, this space needed to fit 75 users, including a reception area, meeting rooms and a kitchen/breakout area.

The Problem

With the project stretching across two floors, consistency was key. We also had a lot of moving parts, such as flooring, plumbing, electrics, etc., which we had to oversee, and make sure we remained aligned to the strict timeline of three months.

Budget was quite tight for this office refit. However, with access to a range of trusted suppliers and a creative mindset, we were able to offer suggestions and alternatives to meet our client’s brief.

The Solution

Using bench desking with mounted partitions, we achieved a light, airy, open-plan office while maintaining private spaces for employees to complete confidential calls and work. We choose to install allocated locker units to help separate the room, but they also provide easy access for the team to store personal belongings.

Across each floor, we created comfortable pods with soft seating and high walls for collaborative meetings. There’s also a modernised, easy-to-clean kitchen with seating for staff breaks and a private meeting room which can be synced up to necessary screens and tech.

We also recommended a mix of modern carpet and light wooden flooring throughout, using the different styles to identify various zones within the office as well as ensuring everything meets health and safety regulations.

The Outcome

The team have delivered an incredible warehouse to office transformation with this project. By understanding our client’s preferences and requirements to run their operations effectively, we could design a modern, welcoming and efficient working environment. One that can easily evolve as they grow.
